On October 9th, 2010, the Norwood Park Fire Protection District hosted it’s annual Open House. Visitors had an opportunity to learn about home escape in our smoke trailer, enjoy hot dogs cooked at the firehouse for our guests, explore fire equipment, get flu shots, use real fire hoses to race buckets across the parking lot, and see a real automobile extrication!
An annual event, the Open House is possible thanks to sponsors who volunteer their time and products, like Luke’s Hot Dogs on Harlem, Plaza Bank, Dominoes Pizza, Rex’s Italian restaurant, and Al-Air. Special Thanks goes out to Mary Field and the Norwood Park Township for the donations of this years Flu Shots, and all the Firefighters, Trustees, and their families for bringing together the community for this event!
